CrossFit Games 2021 is nearing and many participants are excited. Other than the traditional CrossFit Games, events for women will be held. Women are competing

The women's competition at the 2021 Crossfit Games began this morning with the swim event. Jonne Koski and Tia-Clair Toomey Orr won the first event. After maintaining her lead throughout competition, Koski was declared the overall winner. Tall and Eramoo O'Connell came in second and third, respectively. It was the first Games event by women. The women's side wanted to complete the podium.

The field is full of top-level athletes in the women's competition. The field comprises nine athletes, one of whom is a teenager who won the competition in Australia last summer. Other contenders are Australian athlete Kara Saunders, who finished second in Australia and eleventh worldwide in 2020. Andrea Nisler is another rising star. She competed in the team category in 2018 and placed third in the United States, and 15th overall in 2020. In addition to these athletes, the Women's competition will also feature a newcomer to the sport - Icelandan competitor Sara Sigmundsdottir, who won the first place medal in the World Crossfit Games earlier this year.

Pegboard contest

Pegboard was an original feature at Crossfit Games 2021. It was added to Crossfit Games' summer Olympic program alongside double-unders & dumbbell overhead Squats. With 30 wins, Toomey-Orr holds the record for the most Games events won. Sager won Event 11 and became the Games' third winner. While there were many tie-breakers, ToomeyOrr's dominance was enough to win the contest.

CrossFit Games training involves focusing on ten basic physical fitness skills: endurance, strength flexibility power speed and agility. Pegboard is a contest that tests competitor's grip strength as well as coordination. A scale is used to determine the strength and coordination of competitors. The competition was fierce and the athletes felt a sense accomplishment after finishing the Pegboard.


Cutting system

CrossFit Games has a new cutting system for individual competition. It's not as extreme as the cuts used in past Games, but still very different than this year. Because the competition is made up of 15 events, a cut to 30 athletes after the seventh or eighth event is very likely. The question is: How will CrossFit adjust points after cuts? The scoring table used in the 2019 games was nearly identical to the one used in 2021, so it's likely that this will continue to be the case.

This year's field consists of 236 athletes, making it the largest in the history of the CrossFit Games. Major cuts are made in the first six events. The field then drops to 75 athletes. The top 30 finishers compete in a sprint pairt to determine who is the top ten. The top 20 competitors then compete for the remaining six events. Castro's system was strongly criticised by former Games participants, who felt that cuts were too substantial.

Equipment from Reebok

Reebok announces new CrossFit Games clothing, shoes and other equipment. The Nano X1 are the new shoes. They are designed to suit multiple fitness requirements. Although Reebok calls this shoe "the shoe for fitness", it feels more like a training shoe. DuPont's Kevlar fabric is used for the upper, which promotes breathability and durability. The shoes' responsiveness is enhanced thanks to the RopePro tech and the firm midsole.

Reebok's contract with CrossFit will end at the end of 2020, and the Games will be without a title sponsor. Reebok has sponsored these Games for over a decade. However, it now appears that the company's involvement in the Games is decreasing. Reebok won't be funding the Games' prize fund, but will continue making all athletic apparel and equipment worn athletes by, including the Reebok gear. The company won't refer to itself as "Reebok crossfit games" anymore.
